How I Enjoyed Solitude in Joshua Tree

Everyone needs to experience peace and solitude every once in awhile. I found just that in the likes of Joshua Tree. This trip was long overdue and something that I have been wanting to plan for about a year now, but...life. I literally forced myself to take time off from work for a vacation. I spent the first half in Arizona and booked a cabin last minute on AirBnB. (No pics of the cabin allowed, but check out the Leeds Cabin on AirBnB.)

The whole Joshua Tree experience is one-of-a-kind starting with the trek. Specifically, the road that led to the cabin was all dirt. Unfamiliar to me as a city girl, but my Altima Sport made it through.

The quietness and stillness was everything. I could actually slow my mind down.

Once I arrived, I tried to unwind as best as I could, but it did feel a little weird being in the middle of nowhere by myself. So I took a dip in the cowboy tub before the setting of the sun.

Then came the sunset.....I brought dinner before settling for the night (as recommended by the host.) After dinner, I couldn't wait until night fall so that I could see the stars shine bright in the sky. If you don't know, the desert night sky is the best place to see all of the stars in all of their glory. It's one of the most beautiful sights on Earth. I was actually tempted to sleep on top of my car, but desert bugs are vicious.

I made sure to get up early enough to catch the sunrise, and well......

Waking up in this place was pure bliss. The quietness and stillness was everything. I could actually slow my mind down. Focus. Reconnect. Recharge. I could've maybe used another night, but this sufficed. This vacation made me shift my energy into what I really want to do. Which started with a conversation in Tucson with my honey. It's about time to redirect myself to my true passions in life. Post about that coming soon. In the meantime, I couldn't leave JT without a photo shoot.
